The seminars on Indian
Classical Music give insight into the system of Raga and Tala
(Indian melodic movement and rhythm) in theory and practice as
it has been developed and experienced in the last two millennia.
As every classical music needs training of the ear and understanding
to appreciate and to feel it more, this course aims at a deeper
awareness of the capacity of expression of individual notes with
their distinct characters, ornaments and their relationships
amongst each other.
Designed for composers and performers of Contemporary Music
who are interested in the rich tradition of Indian melodic and
rhythmic development and for Jazz musicians for the Indian structure
of improvisation and expression.
